Students who are currently in grades K-7 will be required to complete math and reading assignments over the summer. These assignments are being given so that when students return there will be less time spent reviewing past material. The teachers of the grade they are entering will give summer assignments to the students. Assignments will be given through the Summer Solutions Workbooks, available online and at Joseph Beth Booksellers. Current Kindergarteners will use Summer Solutions for both Math and Language Arts assignments. All other grades will receive Language Arts assignment in a letter that will be sent home this Wednesday, May 8th, from the teacher of the grade they will be entering. Please keep a look out for these letters. The information will also be on teachers websites.

This Tuesday, May 7th our 4th graders put on a wax museum choosing a person from Ohio history to study, write a paper on, develop a speech and memorize the speech highlighting the most important events of the persons life. Our students did a wonderful job and we are grateful to our teachers, Janie Howe and Katie Hershey for organizing such an informational event!
Cincinnati.com also put together a great video of this presentation, to view their video visit: http://news.cincinnati.com/VideoNetwork/2365781850001/Cardinal-Pacelli-wax-museum

Over the past two weeks, Cardinal Pacelli’s artist in residence, Debbie Brod, has worked with our students to create a piece of installation art that is now on display above the bulletin board in the hallway next to the school offices. During her time here, she collaborated with 7th graders on a daily basis, along with working with many other grades.
We would like to thank the Fine Arts Committee and the Ohio Arts Council for making this residency happen. The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically, and we are very fortunate to have received the grant.
