On Thursday December 12th Our Lord Christ the King hosted the Christmas meeting and dinner for the area St. Vincent de Paul members. All members of all of the conferences in Greater Cincinnati were invited to attend – there are approximately 55 conferences in Cincinnati. At the dinner members learned of updates and were also able to share ideas with other Vincentians from other conferences.
Recently our 6th graders took responsibility for a meal at the Drop Inn Center. The class all pitched in to bake desserts, shop for the food items and serve the meal. Parent chaperone Sally Heidelberg wrote, I just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know what great kids they have. They did such a wonderful job and handled themselves beautifully. At the end of the meal they even earned a round of applause as a thank you. It was a very rewarding experience and a gift to be able to serve with them.
Those who served at the Drop Inn Center had a great experience. Jenna Keiser said, I learned that some people are less fortunate than me and sometimes we need to focus on them instead of ourselves. Kellie Hannon said, My most memorable moment was seeing that all the people were very grateful for the food and they tried to make us laugh.
