Every year 8th grade students from parochial grade schools around the city anticipate the day they will receive their HSPT (High School Placement Test) scores and choose where they will spend their high school years. It is always an exciting time, and it is also a time of celebration for many families. Cardinal Pacelli School is proud of its 8th graders and is happy to announce that its students earned admission with honors to many of our great Catholic high schools. The Pacelli Class of 2015 has been offered over $150,000 in scholarship. Over 50% of Pacelli’s 8th graders received Admission with Distinction and/or monetary awards. “Every year it is delightful to see our graduating students realize that they are ready for the next step in their lives. After learning that their school of choice has accepted them, and more often than not with honors, their confidence and academic aptitude matures.” (Kim Roy, Principal)
It was not only 8th graders that achieved scholarship from local Catholic High Schools. 7th grade student, Quin Rubick applied for the Tir na Nog Scholarship at Purcell Marian High School. This scholarship is given to a 7th grader who demonstrates leadership, is active in his/her parish community, receives teacher recommendations, and is committed to attend Purcell Marian High School as a ninth grader. The Tir na Nog Scholarship covers tuition for Quin’s 8th grade year at Pacelli.
