Cardinal Pacelli’s Art program teaches students to create, analyze, compare and evaluate their art, as well as that of other students and famous artists. They learn to define and recognize the elements of art and the principles of design, thereby enabling them to recognize, distinguish and appreciate the art and cultural influences of different countries and historical periods.
Along with experiencing art in the classroom, kindergarten through eighth graders attend art class once a week. In addition to drawing, painting, printmaking and various other mediums, we also have ceramics available to a few select grades. The junior high grades are extremely fortunate to develop their technological skills, working on their own personal tablets to create individual designs for our 3- D printer.
Our art curriculum is also enhanced by special programs such as Young Rembrandts, visits from resident artists, our talent show, and the always -changing display of student masterpieces in our hallways.
