Cardinal Pacelli’s Art program teaches students to create, analyze, compare and evaluate their art, as well as that of other students and famous artists.  They learn to define and recognize the elements of art and the principles of design, thereby enabling them to recognize, distinguish and appreciate the art and cultural influences of different countries and historical periods.

Kindergarten students attend art twice per week, and first through eighth graders attend art class once per week.  Students experience a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and kiln-fired clay. The junior high grades are extremely fortunate to develop their technological skills, working on their own personal tablets to create individual designs for our 3-D printer. Selected students in grades 1-8 participate in the annual Hyde Park Art Show which takes place the first weekend in October.
