Student Council Wraps the Food Drive

Each year, students are asked to bring in a can as their “ticket” to Ghoulish Games. This year, Student Council challenged the school to see how much each homeroom could bring in to compete to win their floor and the entire school. Student Council thanks everyone who participated! St. Vincent De Paul will be receiving well over 2,000 items from Pacelli Students and Families!

Mrs. Goff’s Fourth Grade Homeroom brought in the most items for the entire school, their final count was 1,185. Mrs. Taul’s Sixth Grade Homeroom won the upstairs, with 104 items at the final count. Special shoutouts both Mrs. Schwendeman and Miss Haywards Second Graders, Mrs. Boehm’s Sixth Graders and Miss Wallach’s Seventh Graders!

Thank you to Student Council for organizing this food drive, and thank you Pacelli Families for your support! Click here for a few more pictures!

Junefest 2025 Chairs Needed – Help Get Planning Underway!

Remember how much fun you had at Junefest this past summer?? The next one will be here before we know it!

We are currently looking for parish/school members to chair Junefest 2025! It is a GREAT way to get involved, give back to this amazing community and meet new people! If you’re interested in being a part of this FUN, rewarding experience, please contact us and we will answer any questions you may have!

A new system is in place so that the prior year chairs will be assisting new chairs in the planning process, in an advisory role. This will help streamline tasks and logistics and minimize workload for the new chairs – both during the planning and the festival weekend. We will work with you hand-in-hand, and are excited to get started! Please contact jenhardin24@gmail.com or reply to this email if you’re interested in this volunteer opportunity or with any questions.

Thank you!
Your Junefest 2024 Co-Chairs:
Jaime and Andrew Lorey
Carolyn and Kris Durstock

Zoo’s Wings of Wonder Visit

Our middle schoolers were in for a treat on Tuesday, 10/29th! The Zoo’s Wings of Wonder team brought by two parrots, a falcon and some rats for students to learn about and see up close. Students learned about how the parrots are alike and different, how they are trained and how the falcon is a nest pirate (but also protector!). How do rats fit into the equation?! Students learned that the common practice of poisoning rodents is actually responsible for many bird deaths — birds may catch/scavenge the poisoned rodents and ingest the poison themselves. The zookeepers also noted that while many think parrots make good pets, they are actually a LOT of work! Domesticated rats, they say, make excellent and clean pets. They’ve just gotten a dirty rap from their feral relatives.

Popsicles with the Principal!
